About GOT

Congratulations, and welcome to college!

Perseverance, resilience, resourcefulness, and hard work have helped you make it this far. As a first-generation college student, this is a particularly important achievement.  First-generation college students are the first in their family to attend college.  Inherent in this distinction are obstacles that traditional students don’t have to face.

In the Spring of 2011, the Psychology department at CSCC created the Generation One Trailblazers group to provide peer support and share resources to help the first generation student adjust to college life.  Almost immediately, the popularity of the GOT mission spread, and now GOT has a strong presence throughout the entire college.

Consider this site the place where you can find peer support and advice, helpful resources, and a general connection to the college in order to enhance your academic experience.

So, feel free to browse around the site and check back often for udpates!
